Zanpakuto Spirit Personality: Similar in nature to Kensei, Herutsu is intensely curious, although his is less... humane. While Kensei keeps from harming anyone with his curiosity, unless he believes they deserve it, Herutsu has no such sympathy, gladly endangering anyone, except those he genuinely cares for, such as his wielder, or his wielder's hollow, for shits and giggles. On the other hand, Herutsu is vastly different from Kensei, if only in the fact that Herutsu understands human emotions like love, hate, or mercy, rather well. While he does not necessarily feel them, he does have attachments of a different sort, often trying to get Kensei to expand his emotional range out of both curiosity and amusement. This often includes Herutsu suggesting Kensei try to relate to people when they speak with him, testing his ability to see through another's eyes.

Herutsu is also vaguely aware that his wielder does not consider himself normal. In this, Herutsu reminds Kensei that while he is not normal, he is still not invincible. Herutsu is rather arrogant, although he also knows his limits, and pushes Kensei to break his own, as Herutsu wants to get stronger constantly. A gnawing hunger for power is the most prevalent feeling that Herutsu experiences, and he uses this as an excuse to make Kensei push himself, as Herutsu grows with Kensei, just like any Zanpokuto. However, Herutsu is also merciless, pushing Kensei to kill anyone he does not care for. Usually, Kensei ignores this, although Herutsu does not get irritated by this, as Kensei has proven that mercy can be useful sometimes.

Inner World: The general depiction of Kensei's inner world is a very impossible asteroid field. Impossible in that the asteroids are bare meters apart, where they should be pulled together by gravity to form a single object. This does not happen, as this is his inner world, and thus, is not bound by the usual laws of physics. Indeed, it is entirely possible to stand on nothing in this world, due to the utter lack of gravity, except that which is generated by Reiatsu. The size of the asteroids ranges from the size of a soccer ball, to a football field.

The world is also strangely linear, in that all of the asteroids are layered, almost randomly. The larger asteroids tend to gravitate towards the center layer, while the bottom and top layers contain smaller asteroids. The largest asteroid is in the center, and is roughly the size of a football field. Each asteroid has various craters, only as large as baseballs. The appearance of the inner world reflects the abilities of the Zanpokuto, as the space between asteroids randomly contracts or expands.

Shikai Abilities:

Expansion/Contraction - Within a 30m field, Herutsu may be used to expand or contract the empty space between atoms, essentially shrinking or growing matter by making hand movements reflecting the expansion or contraction. This does not work on beings with Reiatsu, as they resist it passively. However, this may be used on the owner, to expand or contract his own body or weapon, since his reiatsu is the one causing the changes. A limit to this is that the user may only expand or contract things up to five times their original size. This means he could shrink a 5m object into a 1m object, or make a 1m object into a 5m object.

Compression - By quickly contracting and expanding matter, Herutsu can be used to cause compression based explosions, which cause only kinetic damage. Because it uses Expansion/Contraction as a base for this ability, it may not be used directly on beings with reiatsu. Naturally, this has a range of 30m, and an affected area with a diameter of 5m.

Imaku - A separate part of the abilities of the shikai, Ikamu is the ability to create portals, which are essentially Garganta in appearance. The portals must lead to somewhere Kensei has been before, disregarding dimensions. This is primarily used for travel or escape. Of course, Kensei must stand still for a single post before the portal will open.

Bankai Abilities: (Garandou Herutsu)

Shikai Enhancement - Expansion/Contraction, and Compression carry over to Bankai, although the amount that Expansion/Contraction can expand/contract by is doubled, making it possible to make an item ten times as large or small as the original size. This also boosts the power behind Compression. The range is not changed, however.

Makui - A boosted version of Ikamu, allowing Kensei to open temporary portals, up to six. Each portal may reach a single meter in radius, and are interconnected. This means, Kensei may make a portal on his left, and a portal 10m away, and put his arm through the portal, causing his arm to appear on the portal that is 10m away from him. In this, Kensei is capable of using backstabbing strategy. There are two weaknesses with this, being that the portals can only stay open for a single post, and that each portal makes a rather loud tearing sound, destroying the possibility of stealth, even though the portals are not visible. There is also a cooldown of 2 posts per portal. Each portal must be within Kensei's sight for it to open.

Absolution - By condensing the air around his arm, Kensei may create a shield to block attacks with, fusing his reiatsu with the air to make it far more durable as well. Kensei has tested this against his own cero, finding it did not simply block the cero, but drain the energy from it and disperse it into the condensed air which was held within the shield. The user may not move the shield once created. The shield also does not prevent non-reishi based attacks, allowing for physical confrontation.

Manifold Sundering - Using Expansion in a very strange way, Kensei may make his movements affect far away objects on a larger scale. Though it has no absolute range, the further the movement travels, the more time it takes to affect. At any further than 30m, this takes until the user's next post before it affects the target. If the movement connects with something within 30m, it happens the very moment the movement is finished.

Continuum Rendering - Essentially Manifold Sundering used repeatedly. The biggest difference being that the user may not move while making the movements, as well as the addition of cooldown of 5 posts.

Minkowski Obliteration - Similar to Compression, but far more powerful, Kensei focuses a ball of air into his palm, condensing it as much as possible, until it becomes an almost solid mass, before throwing it. When the ball hits solid matter, or liquid, or when Kensei detonates it by releasing his reiatsu, it releases a blast with a range of 10m, utterly destroying the area. Unfortunately, as Kensei must either throw it, or push it into something, it is either dodgeable or a suicide technique.

Hello Kensei, I will be discussing with you on your app.  Anything that is out of place or needs editing will be in this color. Hope that you understand that there will be no biased grading on this application, any and all issues dealt with on this app is strictly based on the rules of this site.  Now then without further adieu, your over all assessment.

Please put a cool down as well as a duration, other than that this is acceptable as it does not change size of users other than yourself and inanimate objects.

please put a cool down on this and duration of attack as well as a resistance to the explosion.

Unfortunately this is too much for a shikai ability and I can not allow this as only Hollows and Espada are allowed of this ability as it is their given racial trait.  Please think of another ability.

Please include cool down as well as a duration, please remove the "this also boosts the power behind compression" as stat boosting is not allowed due to the zanpakuto having the same stats as the wielder.

This seems like an auto hit no matter how you look at it, I can't allow this I am sorry.

This needs a resist as it can't block all attacks or cero as other users may have a stronger cero stat than yourself, this also needs a cool down and a duration of how long the shield is up for.

Absolutely not, this needs a range, cool down, duration and a resist.

As repeated above needs range, cool down and duration, but since it is Manifold Sundering used repeatedly it skips duration post for Manifold Sundering, so this is denied.

This seems like an auto hit, please add a resist, cool down, duration, and a range of how far you can throw it.


Overall Assessment:
Overall this application is well thought out, some of the abilities are iffy and I explained why.  I look forward to reading your editing, this app is pretty solid as it is just some minor changes need to be made.
